I AM Project

The Interactive Audio Media (I AM) Project is a collaboration between Harris County Department of Education, CASE for Kids, Yawp Records / Just Add Beats, and the Harris County Public Defender’s Office.

In an afterschool program format, students build 21st-Century Skills through completing audio design challenges to earn digital badges from the Harris County Department of Education in the fields of Music Production, Digital Storytelling, and Sound Design. During the project, participants receive instruction from a creative audio professional and additional support from a client advocate. At the end of the project, students have a portfolio of digital audio works and digital badge credentials that they can share with future employers when applying for jobs, or with future clients when creating their own jobs as young entrepreneurs.
